Pam
McDonough (CEO & President)
Pam McDonough serves as CEO/President of NORBIC and the
Alliance for Illinois Manufacturing and is responsible
for the organization's overall strategy, partnerships
and funding relationships. Pam simultaneously acts as
CEO of DeAngelo McDonough Construction Management Company
and was the former Chair of both the Local Labor Relations
Board and the Illinois Research Park Authority. Previously,
as the first woman director of the Illinois Department
of Commerce and Community Affairs (DCCA) she managed the
state's economic development agency with a nearly $2 billion
budget and a staff of over 500 and helped create and retain
more than 110,000 jobs for Illinois.
Under her leadership, Illinois was ranked first in the
nation for economic development in 2001 and 2002 by Site
Selection magazine. Pam has also served as part of the
Governor's negotiating team which successfully avoided
a strike of the Chicago Hotel Workers in September of
2002 and was the lead negotiator for the State in the
relocation efforts of The Boeing Company's global headquarters
to Chicago. Other successes include, retaining Solo Cup
and the Ford Motor Company expansions on Chicago's Southeast
side; a downtown expansion for ABN-AMRO; and the $1Billion
redevelopment of the Joliet Arsenal into North America's
largest inter-modal hub.
Most of Pam's adult life has been spent working for or
with state government She was simultaneously president
of McDonough Consulting, a government consulting firm,
and executive director of the Illinois Federation of Women
Contractors. She has held senior legislative/policy positions
for four Illinois state departments: the Department of
Administrative Services (now Central Management Services),
the Department of Public Aid, the Capital Development
Board, and the Department of Transportation. She was deputy
director of legislative affairs under Governor James R.
Thompson and served as chief of staff for the House Republican
Leader. In the private sector, she was head of state government
relations for the Illinois Bankers Association.
Pam has served on a number of major task forces and boards
and has received numerous recognition and leadership awards,
including the 2002 Motorola Excellence in Public Service
Award and the 2002 Leadership Award from the Illinois
Development Council.
Pam earned a Master of Public Administration degree with
honors from Sangamon State University (now the University
of Illinois-Springfield), and a Bachelor of Arts degree
with honors from Northeastern Illinois University. A native
of Chicago, Pam has two daughters, Brehan and Meghan. |
